2023 May Wine Release Celebration

In Germany, the coming of spring is celebrated on May Day with outdoor dancing and imbibing a white wine punch ("Mai Wein Bowle") made with sparkling white wine, bunches of fresh sweet woodruff ( or "Waldmeister" as it is called in Germany), and fresh strawberries. Winemaker Jeff Murphy's May Wine is our "bottled" version of this spring treat.

Join us at Johnson Estate on Saturday, April 29th at 7:00PM for an evening celebrating the new release of our 2023 May Wine. Each course of this special Germanic-inspired multi-course meal will be especially curated with Johnson Estate's May Wine and other wines.

Appetizers – In the Tasting Room
Sliced Bratwurst, Green Pea Hummus & Fresh Vegetables,
Ramp Pesto Crostini, Smoked White Fish Dip with Rye Crackers,
& Cheese & Charcuterie Platter

First Course:
Asparagus Soup Garnished with Fresh Cream & Chives
Dry Riesling

Main Course:
Beef Sauerbraten with Red Cabbage & Spatzle
Founders’ Red

Salad:
Arugula Salad with Crispy Bacon, Asparagus, Boiled Eggs, & Wild Ramp Vinaigrette
Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir

Dessert:
Lemon Cheesecake Tart with Fresh Sorrel
