Harvest is in Full Swing!

FROM BUD TO BOTTLE: IVES & CONCORD

Harvest has been abundant this year and almost all the grapes should be off the vines in a few short weeks, save for some Vidal and Chambourcin we'll save for the ice wine harvest in the depths of winter.

Today we harvested Concord grapes - yes, from those vines on the Estate perhaps originally planted by Frederick W. Johnson in the early 1900s. Much of our Concord is used to make sweet Concord wine. Fred likes to say that since we are in the middle of the world's largest Concord grape belt, that we should produce the best
Concord wine - which we think we do! This wine won 90 Points and a GOLD medal in the 2021 NY Wine Classic.

We harvested Ives grapes in late September, which are used primarily to make a deep garnet sweet red wine (
Ives, of course) and also for flavor and color in our Pink Niagara, Chautauqua Blush, and House Red. Have you tried all four? Place an order or stop into the Tasting Room today!
