Picking Complete for Pinot Noir, Seyval Blanc, Niagara, Ives, Delaware, Maréchal Foch, Traminette, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Chancellor.
As I write this email, the sun is shining after some cold rainy days, and the press deck is busy with the harvest of beautiful full bins of Riesling grapes. Here's what it looks like as the fork lift approaches to put them in the de-stemmer. And here's Sam Sheehy, Fred Johnson, and Jeff Murphy looking on. The 2023 harvest started about two weeks later than usual, thanks to this summer's moderate temperatures, but is well underway with ten varieties now picked.
