Thanks to several days of mild weather, the GOLDEN maple sap has begun to run in western New York - even if we did have over a foot of snow afterwards!  So, we are celebrating both NYS Maple Weekends and the winery's recent GOLD medals.

Maple Liqueur

Our Maple Liqueur, introduced in March 2015, is now a popular "GOLDEN" tasting room favorite.  Winemaker, Jeff Murphy, likes this fortified aperitif (20% alcohol) for its use of the natural and uniquely American local product, maple syrup (Big Tree Maple), along with estate-grown grapes and the spirits made from them.  It is a delicious pre-dinner or dessert wine which tastes like a combination of ice wine and sherry with a maple finish.  Yes, you may buy some now!

In 2016, this aperitif was awarded a GOLD Medal, Exceptional, 93 Points by the Tastings.com.

NYS Maple Weekends, March 17-18 & 24-25

At the Winery:  Johnson Estate became a member of the NY Maple Association in 2015, not because we make local maple syrup, but because we use it in our Maple liqueur.  To celebrate Maple Weekends, we will serve freshly-made French Crêpes & Fancy Ground Nuts on weekend afternoons from 1-4pm.
