With Rosé Wines.......Thinking About Father's Day

ABOUT US       RED     WHITE     ROSÉ

AT THE ESTATE
Frequent spring rains and sunny days have made the farm lush and green and the grape blossoms (shown above) are just about ready to bloom. The wine cellar is busy bottling our early white wine 2019 vintages. And we are working with our winemaker on two new products which we look forward to sharing with you soon. More on that later, but in the meantime....

We wish you all a happy beginning of summer,
Jennifer & Fred Johnson

ENJOY SUMMER WITH ROSÉ
June 13th is National Rose Day and since Johnson Estate now has two dry rosé wines, we'd like to propose that summer - all summer! - should be rosé days.  Here they are:

Ruby Dry Rosé is made from free-run juice from estate-grown Maréchal Foch - makes a beautifully ruby-colored dry rosé.  Fresh, fruity, and light flavors.

2019 Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir - just released!  A French-style rosé, light & slightly tannic.

FATHER'S DAY IS COMING - WHAT TO DO?
When it comes to Father's Day, we always think of Fred, Sr., the founder of Johnson Estate. His favorite grape was Chancellor, once grown in France and often used in blends to make house wines ("vin de maison") which he would drink while staying in small hotels when working in Europe.   He planted Chancellor grapes on the site of HIS father's favorite sunny slope orchard. Thus, we honor them both with Founders' Red, fruit-forward and lightly-oaked, made largely from Chancellor grapes and blended with estate-grown Pinot Noir. Here’s Fred's 1937 pick-up with Jennifer’s shasta daisies and the Traminette vineyard in the background.

With Father's Day around the corner, we're sharing
some ideas for you to consider...
