WHAT'S TERROIR?: VINEYARD WALK & TASTINGS

The wines made near Lake Erie are influenced by a unique combination of geography, soils, slope, and weather which define our Germanic "terroir". Want to learn about this special microclimate and why we can grow the grapes for excellent wines? Join Owners Fred and Jennifer Johnson and Winemaker Jeff Murphy for an exclusive tasting tour in the vineyards. Walk includes three tasting stations and seasonally-curated pairings for six-eight wines, including ice wine. Walks are offered four times this summer (severe rain cancels, but this doesn't happen often) on Tuesdays -
June 28, July 5, July 19, and August 9.

Visit our Event Calendar for reservations and
for more information on this and other events.
PS We understand that there are those who live too far to join us for these walks.
Here's a
tasting menu (and recipes) so that you may also enjoy this remotely!

WINES FOR FATHER'S DAY

Ah, yes, rather have the 1937 General Motors truck than wines?! Come see it at the winery - at least on good weather days - many weekends this summer.

As you know, Johnson Estate's portfolio of wines is expansive - over 40 wines! - and includes everything from dry to sweet, from regular to fortified (have we talked about the
Old Oak Ruby, our bourbon barrel-aged Port?). We hope that you find some favorites which will please the fathers in your households!
Here's a link to
red wines in case it helps.

PAINTING THE FACES OF CHAUTAUQUA
Katherine Galbraith's 2022 Summer Project

"Painting the Faces of Chautauqua" is a project to celebrate, in paint, the people who live and work in Chautauqua County, NY, as well as those who come to visit our beautiful county. The purpose is to present various people of all walks of life, ages, life situations, as well as some plein air pieces depicting where they live, telling their stories in paint.
Katherine's goal is to paint as many faces as she can during the summer of 2022.

Throughout the summer there will be "Pop Up" shows in and around the Village of Westfield and Chautauqua County. "Painting the Faces of Chautauqua" will culminate with an exhibition and reception at the Westfield Train Station. At that time, all the portraits will be hung together, almost as one work of art. Each portrait will be 11x14," and will require the subject to agree to sit for their portrait for 2 hours.

Katherine would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested in sitting for a portrait.
She will be painting all over the County beginning June 24, 2022.
