RED WHITE ROSÉ DESSERT
What's your favorite Easter weekend wine? I can't decide, but May Wine, Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir, and Ruby Dry Rosé are all on my list and we hope that they might be on yours - or that you have others in the Johnson Estate portfolio.
These are "perfect-for-spring-and-Easter" wines and they pair well with brunch and lunch menus as well as dinner. Here's a quiche recipe that is easy to make as one example. The May Wine (last year's vintage is on sale for $9; the new one comes out at the end of April), makes great bellinis. Our Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir, the third vintage of this Provençal-style rosé, is a smooth balanced wine with a nice finish and fresh fruit aromas. It has a light pink color with warm salmon highlights and is bottled with a Vino-lok glass cork. Elegant enough for that Easter basket present if you lie - as is the Ruby Dry Rosé!.
But this reminds me not to forget to confirm that our May Wine Release Dinner - is scheduled for April 29th. Winemaker Jeff Murphy and Fred and I will join you in this multi-course pairing events. We've decided that comparing vintages of May Wine will be fun and interesting. There are still places available and we hope that you can join us. Chef Vicki and the team will be working on the menu soon - perhaps with some Germanic inspirations that will make your mouth water.
