What's Terroir? Vineyard Walk & Tastings
Western New York and Pennsylvania have the perfect Germanic micro-climate for growing European grapes (Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay) and producing world-class wines. The region's wines are influenced by a unique combination of geography, soils, weather, and agriculture. That is "terroir." Winemaker Jeff Murphy and owners Fred and Jennifer Johnson will lead you through the vineyards to sample 8-9 wines and enjoy food pairings with them. See, touch, and taste the ripening grapes.
This class takes place at Johnson Estate Winery, 8419 W. Main Rd.
Westfield, NY 14787. Registrants provide their own transportation.
Tickets $99 and are sold through the Chautauqua Institution.
